Pediatric Physical Therapist www.physicaltherapy4kids.com 914-421-9392 tina@physicaltherapy4kids.com Instagram: www.instagram.com/physicaltherapy4kids Facebook: www.facebook.com/PhysicalTherapy4Kids I’m from... I'm originally from Brooklyn, New York. My Education and Training...
I love being a Physical Therapist... Because I enjoy helping children and their families overcome challenges. I love my work as a Pediatric Pelvic Physical Therapist... Because I am able to enjoy discovering creative solutions to large and small issues affecting a child’s quality of life. The areas I specialize in are significant in every child’s quality of life arena including:
I receive the greatest satisfaction when children can lead active lives without having accidents at night, peeing in their pants at school, feeling embarrassed and missing out on social activities. I am proud to be one of a handful of physical therapists who treat the pediatric pelvic floor. This is an area of specialty within the field of physical therapy. It is a specialization requiring much further study, training and practice beyond school and licensure. During a physical therapy session, I will assess your child’s pelvic floor muscles by using a technique called biofeedback. This can be done using different equipment and assesses the child ability to engage(or relax) the pelvic floor muscles. I will also asses your child’s overall core strength, and functional mobility. You and your child will be educated about the anatomy and function of the bladder and bowel. Each session will include practice activities designed to help your child to achieve their goals. My work style... Is collaborative and practical. I emphasize function and quality of life gains with a child-centered approach. You and your child are never treated like a number. When I am not treating patients... I am enjoying the company of my husband, three children, and a rambunctious wheaten terrier. |
