She is also licensed in Acupuncture and is working to complete the Institute for Functional Medicine certified practitioners course. Dr. Greenman uses a combination of complementary and traditional medicine to improve the overall health and wellness of her patients. Dr. Greenman’s training is routed in traditional western allopathic medicine and approaches health and wellness from a bio-psycho-social vantage point. Her training as a primary care physician is at the heart of her complementary and alternative modalities. Dr. Greenman incorporates functional medicine into her practice, utilizing specialized testing to personalize treatment plans. Dr. Greenman’s specific interests include integrative complementary therapies such as acupuncture, myofascial trigger point release, botanicals, nutrition counseling, and mind-body medicine. She uses these techniques to treat pain, stress, migraine and tension headaches, functional abdominal concerns such as irritable bowel syndrome and chronic pelvic pain, and peri-operative anxiety. She is also a champion of women’s health and works with patients in the areas of pregnancy, fertility, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and menopause. Dr. Greenman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Cornell University, focusing on the cultural constructs of medicine and healing. She earned her medical degree at Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in internal medicine, primary care. Dr. Greenman received two fellowships. She received a clinical fellowship in Integrative Medicine from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and a second fellowship in Integrative Medicine from The University of Arizona. Dr. Greenman also received her acupuncture license from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and training in Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) from the Institute for Functional Medicine. Dr. Greenman’s studies and work have taken her throughout Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa. In her free time, Dr. Greenman travels to Brazil and South Africa to visit family, practices yoga, and engages in community building. |
