I earned a BS in Communications at Boston University, a Master of Social Work at Simmons University, and I have advanced training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Sexual Health and Peri/Menopause. My backstory… After I became a mother, I reflected upon how fortunate I was to be surrounded by such an amazing support team – my husband, midwives and doulas and friends – throughout my pregnancies, births, postpartum and beyond. I decided I wanted to provide the same support to others, and got certified in both labor support childbirth education. These roles led me to clinical social work and my focus on women’s behavioral health. I love being a social worker because...I have the privilege of supporting women and their families, of bearing witness to, holding space and offering support for the wide-ranging emotions and experiences each and every client brings. My work style...Is collaborative, flexible and integrative. When I am not working, I am… Spending time with my family, reading, listening to music or a podcast, playing with my twin tabbies, working out, at the movie theatre, enjoying the great outdoors, and most definitely eating chocolate. |
